Last session in January.

10 of us around Myra's table launched once again into playing Bingo up to number 40. Good way to learn. Then we learnt the faire verb or at least looked at it. Mike used pictures to describe in French the details shown such as bridges, boats and restaurants. Next week we meet at Pat's where we will all have a go to describe an everyday scene
Pont Alexandre III - 1896/1898
Inaugurated for the World Fair of 1900, with its single arch and sculptured decorations, the Pont Alexandre III is the most elegant bridge in Paris.

Paris Bridges
The bridges are very much a part of Paris and have, along with the monuments, contributed to its extraordinary wealth. Built along the axis created by the Seine river, Paris cannot live without them. Considered real monuments by some, representing great historical events, they are also crossing points and meeting places, strengthening the harmonious unity of the city. The 36 bridges are the soul of Paris, often places where one is happy to daydream and stroll around

23rd January

New possible member started so the gathering of the French group on Tuesday was a bit large and we may have to split back into two again. Today we celebrated our French cultural interest we all went to the Romsey Parisienne restaurant for a bar meal. The food was on the most part excellent and the staff were efficient and entertaining.

16th January

Owing to lack of numbers both French groups have joined together on a Tuesday. Today was our first meeting. Myra's teaching using bingo and a clock exercise worked very well. Also the conversation with Mike helped all of us listen to spoken French.
Next week's meeting is on Tuesday at 10am at Myras.
