29th April
First hour was mainly in French with Myra encouraging those who knew a bit more to try describing our holiday in Exmoor. Geoff described his holiday with his wife abroad.
We also continued with the rustic French life as it was before the war.
After a break we watched the Hampshire Against Fluoridation DVD - all were horrified that the NHS could even think about putting the stuff in our water.

22 April
Last week we were at Ray & Junes sitting round the dining room table and we continued with the exploits of the young girls and boys on their way to University.
We also read about Bobette and the parasol.
During the break we discussed the impending threat of the fluoridation of Southampton's water and all of us were against it. What will it take to stop it though?
At Myra's today, lovely and sunny weather. Pat reported on her trip to Paris with Brian and his American cousins in French. Mike also had spent a week there but right in the centre with all the famous buildings within walking distance. He and Pam rented an idyllic furnished apartment with spacious rooms on the second floor with its own staircase. Mike brought along many printed photos to illustrate his talk.We then read and spoke some French jokes based on puns which they have very little.
After the break we played cards in French of course which was good fun.

8th April
Very low in numbers today with holidays and work. But a good cheerful get together even if we discussed a lot of medical problems prior to getting down to the purpose of the day. Myra read out the final story on Chloe with it's happy ending. We then read sentences using the "en" as aginst last weeks's "y".

Sophie et Claudia sont dans le TGV de Bretagne à Paris. Une jeune fille blonde entre dans le compartiment.
Mary Excusez-moi. Est-ce que ce train va à Paris ?
Sophie Oui. C’est le TGV 345.
Mary Merci beaucoup. Je suis anglaise et je ne parle pas très bien français ; je ne veux pas prendre le mauvais train !
Sophie Bien sûr, je comprends… Comment t’appelles-tu ?
Mary Je m’appelle Mary. Et vous ?
Sophie Moi, c’est Sophie. Et voici mon amie Claudia ; elle est italienne.
Mary Enchantée !
Claudia Moi aussi ! Est-ce que tu viens souvent en France ?
Mary Non, pas très souvent. Et vous ? Est-ce que vous allez souvent en France ?
Claudia Ah ! S’il te plaît ! Tu peux me tutoyer, et Sophie aussi ! Oui, en fait, j’habite avec Sophie à Paris.
Mary Où est-ce que vous habitez ?
Sophie Nous habitons rue du bois de Boulogne, à côté de l’Université.
Mary Ah, formidable ! Moi aussi je vais étudier à Paris. C’est un programme spécial : je passe six mois en France, et six mois en Angleterre…
Claudia Et qu’est-ce que tu étudies ?
Mary J’apprends le français ! Je veux être professeur.
Sophie Et où est-ce que tu vas étudier ?
Mary A l’Université Dauphine.
Sophie C’est incroyable ! Nous aussi ! Tu es en première année ?
Mary Oui, vous aussi ?
Sophie Oui ! Nous allons être dans la même Université ! Quelle coïncidence !

John & Sheila's today. Myra started off with a brilliant April Fool's joke convincing us to turn over her prepared paper on French grammar as to attempt to read it upside down aided concentration. Don't know why the French call it April Fish?
After a break we continued with Chloé and at long last finishing the story - with a happy ending of course.
Ce soir-là, Chloé et Antoine vont diner à la Tour d´Argent. Ils invitent aussi M et Mme Vincent et Julien.
Après, Chloé et Antoine tombent amoureux et se marient. Ils contactent Hollywood et racontent tout l´histoire de comment ils se sont rencontrés.
A Hollywood on veux tout de suite faire un film de leur histoire. Chloé et Antoine devient des grands stars de cinema et connus dans tout le monde. Ils gagnent beaucoup d´argent et achètent une grande maison exclusive sur une petite île dans l´océan Pacifique. Là ils vivent heureux et ont beaucoup d´enfants.
M et Mme Vincent ont beaucoup aimé Paris et se decident à y déménager. Ils achètent un appartement au centre de Paris. Maintenant Mme Vincent peut aller aux grands magasins tous les jours et M Vincent peut sortir dans les parcs pour jouer de boules avec ses nouveaux amis. M et Mme Vincent vont aussi souvent visiter Chloé et Antoine et tous leurs petit-fils.
Julien continue de faire beaucoup de rolleurs et un jour, il deviendra champion du monde de rolleurs!
