24th April Meeting
Eleven of us attended a lively morning of French tuition. Myra proposed we formed groups and we took turns in asking questions as to the names of different parts of the body.
Following this we again practised numbers by playing Bingo. After a tea break we listened to a reading of the first chapter from The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
Next week at Pat's

One of the flower heads displayed to help colour recognition was as Myra pointed out named appropriately in French pissenlit. The old English name is 'piss-a-bed'. For some interesting facts about the dandelion go to here

After noting the French for Easter, bunny and eggs, we learned the tricky numbers 61 to 80.Lively Bingo ensued to fix the facts. We contribute French books and mags to vary the reading fare and Colin brought a fascinating ''Illustré'' with Mrs. Simpson as cover girl, dated le 12 décembre 1936 ! Then Myra introduced her 30s grammar book. Bill and Sue read 2 little chapters while Myra did the actions to cause some '' sourires'' . Learn with a laugh is our motto ! Finally Bill intrigued us with numerous ex-French words now in English.
Homework---look over the face and body sheets, practice any numbers , also try some question and answers using the question words we learned last week.
