20th December
Sue hosted all three French groups from 10.30 to 3.00pm in her home and provided a good lunch aided by contributions from the members. It was very enjoyable each of us read out a French joke to lighten the mood and it succeeded. We then tried to name the many pictures of French celebrities as we could. After a long break to eat the food laid out in the conservatory, we finished off by general chatting until it was time to go.
Three of the jokes.
Sommes

Just the four of us so we all had a good chance to read and translate the video script from ET. Quite easy so made us feel clever.
After the break we got to track nine on John Noble's CD

6th December 2011
All five for today's French. The video was an extract from Never Never Land the scene where they first meet in the park. Clearly spoken it was easier than some but still with words none of us knew. During a tea break we decided to use the time to speak French and Mike suggested we adopt the game of finding a word in this case it was a noun. The clues led us to The "Merchant" of Venice. Merchant was the word. May do something similar next week. Afterwards we listened to Paul Noble and got up to the second track on CD 7
