A nice day but too cold to be outside tempting as it was in Pat & Brian's welcoming garden. Myra was back in the harness, now able to straighten her back without too much pain. Usual excuses from those who never came perhaps not usual in one case as it involved hunting down a large rat that was invading the garden.
Myra handed out a rather difficult article on artisan's pottery manufacture. A lot of long words that are promptly forgotten but I'm sure we progress a little.
We then stopped for a nice cup of tea - in my case - with even more tempting biscuits followed by Coffee Break French.

Geoff and Janet's today and we all anticipated Janet's treat for us and this time it was jam topped buttered scones. Thanks Janet.
Myra not able to come as too much yoga practise last week led to a bad back. We started by looking at the double meaning il y a Example il y a deux filles. Je suis allé il y a sept ans. And then we examined the use of Subject + venir + de to say just done it Je viens d'aller à la plage.Followed by Avoir Envie De – To Want Elles ont envie d'aller à la fête and finally En Train De while doing something.
Je suis en train de manger.

John & Sheila's today just a few of us again as the usual suspects felt they had better things to do. Myra started off with her home grown poetry celebrating a lonely birthday without anybody to console her until much later. All was forgiven by a trip out to dine. The ode was very good and in French of course. We then played snap with a set of cards showing the time. Amusing and good way to remember how to tell the time shame we forget so easy. Afterwards we continued with CBF.

A nice sunny morning start, less numbers than usual but a productive session. Geoff started off by telling us in faltering French of his holiday lazing on a beach with so much sunshine that the after lunch clouds were a relief.
Myra told us of her journey travelling home by train and meeting a group of small stature Chinese woman all nodding off in her her compartment and seeing a celebrity Kate Omara. Myra told us she looked too long trying to recall her name and received a frosty stare in return. That would make a good Monty Python sketch.
We then listened to CBF and the story of a garcon running off with a purse and the habit of licking windows when shopping. At least that seemed to be what they said.

Another nice morning but a little chilly for staying in P&B's garden so we went inside. A small number again as two members decided that staying in bed was a better option than trying to learn French. Can't imagine why? Mike gave us an account of the annual walking holiday and this time it was in Swindon at a French owned hotel. All enjoyed it and the walks arranged by David. Perhaps that is why the missing members stayed in bed to recover from all that walking.
Myra continued to show us the future tense and so we played the same lesson 6 CBF as the last week.
