22nd June
Behind the chip shop today greeted by a partially deaf and blind curly haired breed of dog as well as Sue. But it, the dog, soon settled down and first of all I regaled Myra with a poem in return for last week's effort by Myra for Joan. They all said it was good and I'm easily flattered so here it is .
There was a strange corsair with one covered eye
Known for her teeth and being very spry
Much is known of her and that is no lie.
Brave as a lion and a staunch defender of truth.
Myra is renowned throughout Totton
Some say as far as distant Soton.
Waving an umbrella with a slogan well read.
Calling for a ban on threats from the NHS
to poison our water throughout the Nation
with that horrible detested fluoridation.
Busy with chickens to feed and eggs for collection
Cleaning the house for our inspection
On some Tuesdays we arrive with notes and sighs.
As we are taught by Myra the intricacies of grammar
not just in English that would be too easy.
But a foreign lingo that makes us all queasy.
Myra again distributed a text about French life and a poem on we think a damsel fly or it could have been a young lady.
